5 Lessons from Working with LinkedIn Learning
Many years ago, my friend Merryl said to me, “The next time you’re in Montecito (Santa Barbara), California, I want to introduce you to my friend Lynda.” I had no idea who Lynda was or why she wanted me to meet her. Well, I said “yes” because I trusted Merryl.
Turns out Lynda and her husband, Bruce, started a company called Lynda.com. Merryl painted a picture of why I needed to be on their platform if I wanted to reach people globally.
I know she saw my deer-in-the-headlights look similar to when someone is talking over your head and you’re just going with the flow. Well, I decided to follow her in my car over to the offices of Lynda.com in 2013. All I recall from that day was how 500 22-year-olds were scurrying around. Intuitively, I said to myself, “I am not sure what is going on, but I need to be involved with this company.”
Fast forward. Lynda and Bruce ended up selling the company to LinkedIn, which eventually was acquired by Microsoft. Bottomline, I have 11 LinkedIn Learning courses in eight languages that have reached 400,000 professionals in 100-plus countries. I am forever grateful for this relationship.
Recently, I returned to the studios to record the 3.0 versions of “Building Business Relationships” and “Growing Relationships as a Manager.” These courses were meticulously designed to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster stronger and more meaningful connections within the professional realm. At the core of these programs lie five fundamental steps, which serve as guiding principles:
1. Do the Work ?
2. Excellence is Early ✨
3. Collaborate to Elevate ?
4. Take a Deep Breath ?♂️
5. Spread Joy ?
Take the courses today and join me on the journey of empowering individuals in the workforce!
