Encouragement Is Oxygen for the Soul
Have you ever wondered how to create oxygen for the soul? Here’s the answer you’re looking for: Encouragement is oxygen for the soul. When we receive encouragement, we gain confidence. We feel seen and appreciated.
Encouragement makes us feel empowered to carry on in the face of adversity.
This principle proves one of the greatest things: We have the power to encourage others.
With a simple text or phone call, we have the ability to lift someone up and make their day. With encouragement, we can help others live their full brilliance. When someone is struggling, we can provide them with the oxygen tank needed to refill their soul.
I once had the opportunity to join sports industry veteran Paul Epstein on his podcast, Playmakers: On Purpose, where we spoke about clarifying one’s purpose and activating the “why.”
Here are some ideas we dove into:
• Courage is the seed of encouragement, prompting us to take leaps of faith and welcome others into our lives.
• Purpose is serving without strings attached. When you are living and working on purpose, quiet quitting is the furthest thing from your mind.
• “What problem have I been created to solve?” is a much more powerful question than “What do I want to do with my life?” This allows you to identify your uniqueness and gain confidence within yourself.
• A life-changing moment only changes your life when you allow that moment to change your behavior. Turn those lessons into actions in your life.
